WWII US M1 Helmet Complete ASTP Painted Insignia
Item: WWII4373

Late war M1 helmet.  Has a front seam, manganese rim, swivel bales.  Chin straps are khaki sew-on with darkened metal buckles.  Original paint is OD with cork aggregate mixed in.  Appears to be a McCord manufactured shell.  Only numbers that are identifiable are "39".  Front of the shell has the insignia for the ASTP program.  Fine uncleaned and unaltered example.  The liner is a Westinghouse.  Has all the khaki straps and webbing intact.  Missing the leather chinstrap.  Has been period brush repainted.  Looks to have had OCS decal to one side.  Nice pair.
